GBTA no clowns

Flightpipe

Sea Turtles Love Me......
Ok so i traded out my false percs and was going to get 2 maroons on a trade deal but when I went to get the fish after being nice to each other for a while they started to tear into each other as soon as i walked in the store so of course i decided to hold off . :( !!!

I went ahead and got my GBTA and now i am reevaluating my clown choices for what i would want to host. My questions are

1. can a pair of clowns get along with 1 large nem ( my lfs say they will fuss with each other even mated pair) so i am weary I want two but i do not want a fight!

2. My new GBTA seems happy was wide open for a while 4-5hrs but just now he has decided to haul butt, I am amazed how fast he moves! I moved my korrilla power heads to the very top of the tank (K3 K4) I am scared of him getting near them so is there anything i can do to entise him to stay is one location.

I have ordered books for marine fishes and inverts but for now all I have is the net a dangerous tool at best!! I have already read about gluing them down but that cannot be good for them so i am not willing to do that.

Any thoughts would be appreciated sorry for the long post im just a lil worried........

My two clowns shared a BTA with no problems.

Have anything to cover the power heads with? Or turn them off until it stops or at least till morning when you can watch it to make sure it doesn't commit suicide.

That is what i was thinking we are watching a movie now so i am keeping an eye on him he was still till the lights went out then he took off I also fed him abit so he seems happy enough but he is still running around! what clowns do you have and did u get them as a mated pair? I thought my LFS was off base telling me that but i do not have alot to go off of here and i am cautious of what i read on the net.

While I no longer keep BTAs, I had a pair of skunks share one, and a pair of clarkiis share one. They now both share a Haddoni ( different tanks )

My clarkiis are now a mated pair, but bought them as two clowns 8 years ago. My skunks are a bonded pair, but haven't spawned yet. They also were bought as just two clowns, in fact were in different tanks when I bought them.

SO following their track record my LFS has no clue what they are talking about so two clowns can share one just fine That figures......

What about bubble feeding his mouth was poking out so i gave him some mysis shrimp which he was all over. Are there any tips to feeding one a day ect. I do not wan to see GBTA soup in the morning i think i am gonna cut off my K3 and K4 for the night. Also do they most walk around only at night.

Also will he sting and fight with mushrooms or any other softie that he may walk close too?

I know these are stupid questions so i appreciate your patience.:)

The mouths of my BTA were always even with the oral disc and was never poking out.

I personally only fed mine twice a month ( once in a while 3 times a month ) and they were still growing and splitting. That was the reason I got rid of them, were getting too big and had too many clones.

Turning them off over night will be a good idea. But for long term should get a cover for them. I have had anemone move both during the night and the day time.

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. :)

Well I am up and i was scared outa my mind that my GBTA had met his maker via power head when he was no where to be found i was about to look in my filter! I only shut down the power head on his side of the tank last night. He is chilling under a rock ledge in a small crevice. Does he know he needs the light?

question is should i move him or just let him figure it out?

I wouldn't move it just yet, give it a week. However, I wouldn't count on it knowing that it needs let. About a year ago I sold off a bunch of rock and my BTAs, I was shocked when I found 3 smaller clones on the underside of the rocks. They were starting to get bleached, but had stayed where they were. So in my experiences, they aren't always smart enough to realize that.

My RBTA hangs upside-down from a rock at night and then stretches to either side (unfortunately favors the back side, out of view) to get light during the day. It's weird.

And my clowns weren't a mated pair either. I bought a bonded pair, but the female jumped out of the tank. So I just bought another one the next day, and they both seem to like each other. The new one was about the same size as the old female. The female did seem to push the male out of the anemone sometimes, but he would just hang around the outside of it and then join her later. Right now they both (along with the rest of my fish) in quarantine being treated for crypto. :( So the RBTA is hosting a anemone crab right now.

Im ok with a little lover's qurral but the full on battle i saw on the LFS when i went to get them is what i am worried about! so bottom line LFS is wrong a pair with one nem will be ok.

My GBTA is still stilling under the rock i found him under when i got up I have not fooled with him so i hope when the lights start to cycle off he will find a better spot.
