GBTA wanted

they had a nicer larger GBTA at Wetpets today..39.99
They also had one that was real small I wanted to buy it hoping it was a little bit cheaper since it was only about 2" around open..but I heard some LFS BS about ohhhh its small now but in a few hours it could be full...Even know it was fully inflated and fully open.

Thanks!

I'll be pretty tied up this week. Hopefully it'll be there when I get chance.

Of course I'm also looking for a RBTA.....but so is everyone. :D

i picked up a big one from wet pets....pink tips and all...... and yes they like to bs you!!! i was told that anemones lose their color when they purge and then regain it. i was told that the color of the anemone comes from what it filters out of the water....

don't worry i know otherwise

COOL! so my RBTA will color morph based on what I feed him. Man, it's amazing what you can learn at the LFS these days. What'd they tell you I should be feeding them to get a purple with orange rings? :)

Who did you talk to at Wet Pets? Any time I go in there, I deal with John, even if I have to wait until he's finished up with another customer... He's always been straight up with me, and he really seems to know his stuff. It's gotten to the point where he knows me when I walk in there and will ask how certain things are doing that I got off of them months and months ago. Also, he took my brother and I backstage and showed us the whole filtration system in the basement once, as well as the piranhas they kept down there.

But I digress. Talk to John, he's good.

yea I usually talk to John and he is a good guy..I dont know who the guy i talked to was...I have heard him talk to other customers before and spew out some really off the wall BS

one note to add to that, i'd be careful with John about corals though...he's great with fish and he and younger Brian are the only ones we really talk to but John kept telling us our T12 lights were good enough for ANY coral which, obviously, they were not.

younger Brian is probably gone now (moved to Vermont) but he at least had several tanks he's kept so he knew a lot more about keeping corals and what they need to be happy...I don't think the other guys maintain tanks personally and I REALLY think that makes a huge difference in who you're talking to at these stores...

i picked up more zoas... i have been collecting them i probably have 7 or 8 variations of them... i have tome brown polyps you can have by the way... they grow like weeds in my tank... they aren't colorful as they are crap brown but they are a cool coral cause when you feed your fish they will close up on any food that touches them... i will try and post pics later today but am at work now

actually the tank that they are in do not have actinics... it just has a 250 mh at like 12.5k... i am trying to decide what t5 retro to get for actinic support... i only have about 5 inches of play with 24" length... so i am looking at a 2 bulb setup... my planted tank has my radio active green dragon eyes and they look sweet... they have been going stong and i hope to have frags of them within the next few months

i talked to the younger brian about my GBTA. he normally knows his stuff, but that one threw me. i've been going to wet pets for years (half of my life) and even though they are "good" you really do need use your own judgement on some things. many times i feel as if i'm talking to used car salesmen....
on a side note, after i added the new GBTA, the old one split......so now i have 3!
