gen-x 2400 nw venturi question

Hello all! I have a gen-x 2400, and wanted to know if anyone has modded it to work better. On instruction from luke, I modded it to accept a 5/8th hose for more amounts of air to be pulled in. It works ok, but sounds as though its missing a beat LOL
Maybe I should drill the venturi hole a little bigger?

not much helps these small pumps.

its a clone of my sedra 3500 and i modded the gills out of this one and at best i get is smaller bubbles and a hair more air intake over a stock ER sedra 3500

almost identical skim production to the stock unit
