Do you think 5000w is overkill. I mean you could run all of your powerheads, pumps, skimmer and heaters on it, and then maybe a radio or TV or something in your house... the 5000w I found is about $500, and will run for 10.5h at full load, and almost 13 @ half load. it take 5g of gas. They have larger ones, but you end up decreasing the uptime with the bigger units for some reason.

Not bad, 60 db is a normal conversation and 85db is Heavy Traffic... Should be tollerable, especially if it's outside.

I have a side door in the garage that goes out next to the fence, so I would probably put it out there, and run extension cords to the tank.

Ok i just got off the phone with BIG-G and thay have a 8500yokahom generater for 900$ but i asked him if we got 10 generaters at one time he told me that he can get us them for 799.99 each and thats 10 or more..

Larry, that generator should be sufficient. Im running a 4000W generator right now and its handling the tank, fridge, furnace and the enternainment center with room to spare.

it will do that and more it has 1/220 and 4/120's

A co-worker is sellling his Troybilt 5500 for $500, about a year old. He got a Honda 6000 for $900 and the benefit is he can have a conversation standing above it.
