GenX 6000 pump question

Hi,

I have a EuroReef RS 250 and my GenX 6000 pump (SP5) died.

I see you sell a GenX 6000 with just a regular impeller. If I bought this, can I use my old parts (impeller, intake) from the one that came with my EuroReef 250 to make this pump work?

Should work fine, I just did a similar swap with no major problems. Big difference is the pump output, the ER modded version has a piece of slip schedule 80 coming out of it, the GenX has threads, and a little smaller inside diameter. I ended up opening the output up a bit on mine by drilling it out to get a little more flow, and used a slip fitting on the threaded output to connect it back to the skimmer.

It did, however, I had to use epoxy to attach a 90 degree 1.5 inch piece of PVC to attach to the skimmer. No problem other than that.

The Gen-X pumps that I am seeing on line have a square face on them with a dial in the front. This is unlike the euro reef modified one. Does that square face come off "“ can anyone show me what it looks like under it in a picture?

Raynist, did you have to drill the top out as well?
