Interested in purchasing a GEO 612 package.
What I would like to do is tee of my return pump with gate valve to throttle back flow to feed reactor.Trying to eliminate the additional feed pump.I cant see anything wrong with doing it this way but I would like to know for sure.
Also, what co2 check valve do you recommend?
Thanks

Hi,

Tapping into your return line is about the best way of running a reactor in my opinion, short of purchasing a good peristaltic dosing pump, which could cost $150 - $300. All of my reactors I've ran have ran this way, with no ill effects.

As far as the check valve goes, the Dennerle is about the best one we've found. They do not "freeze" up like the brass valves do, and are very high quality. Here is a link to that item....

For sub'ing items in the package, please send a direct email to sales@premiumaquatics.com.

The Geo blows away the Korallin in my opinion. The co2 useage on the Korallin is great, but other than that it has a few downfalls, the biggest being the top mounted pump that has a tendency to get air locked quite frequently. You then have to run two effluent lines to help fix the issue.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I'm not familiar with "freezing" of brass valves. What exactly happens?

I would like to see how someone tapped into the return line. I think I will be going with the GEO package from PA but I have never setup a calcium reactor and like the ideo of not having a dedicated pump.

I can't wait to get mine hooked up! Thanks again Jason! :D
