Geo Kalk Reactor

Well i've decided to try a kalk reactor and was just wondering if anyone runs a Geo reactor? Any issues or problems to look out for? I have read alot about them in the past weeks and have pretty much narrowed it down to this one.

I am tired of using 2-part and decided before winter I want to run a Kalk and Calc reactor. I have been using AAHC and Coral Vitalizer for the last month and have seen great improvements in pretty much all SPS (color and growth). Only down side is they are sucking up quite a bit of Calc and ALk. Right now i'm dosing 80ml of 2-part every day and it still fluctuates more than I want it to. I'm hoping by the addition of the Kalk reactor it will be more stable.

Thanks

if you buy the kalk reactor with the pump stirs make sure you buy an extra impellor and only run the pump on a timer

if you run for 24/7 the pump doesnt last longer than a few months

depends all on your demands if you need to add more to make for the difference also becareful of ph spikes

read on another board of a guy that was running a ph 9 because the reactor was dumping over a gal of kalk in his 40 gal (came down to the top off he was using was defective)

I have been metering my evap. It is right around 1.5 gals a day. I have been using my dosing pump set at 237ml/hr which equals 1.5 gals. This had been holding the sump level perfect but it is only ro/di water. My PH runs on the low side 7.85 lowest to 8.08 highest. I'm hoping with the addition of Kalk I can achieve a higher and more stable PH. My alk and calc stay pretty good I loose like 30ppm of Calc daily and about 1dkh of Alk.

After I get the Kalk figured out I will be attempting a Calc. Reactor(probably Deltec). I wanted to get a Deltec kalk reactor but there just to expensive and the Geo has had alot of good reviews.

Chad what size calc reactor do you run? Are they pretty easy to maintain?

Thanks

get the geo calcium reactor

i wasnt really impressed with my deltec

now the deltec kalk reactor is very nice

right now i am running a schuran jetstream 1

I have a geo CA reactor, and never had any probelms with it. nice, easy to set/maintain. very good workmanship.
