Georgia Aquarium pictures

Ny wife was in Atlanta was work this week and was lucky enough to go be able to go to the Georgia Aquarium. Here is a link to her pictures. BTW, the club is in the initial stages of planning a club trip. :) Looks like it might be around October.
 
That place is awsome. Did you guys take the behind the scenes tour? Its WELL worth it. Got to see their reef tank behind the scenes and its incredible they have a lagoon with a DEEP, and I mean DEEP sand bed and a bunch of mangroves growing out of it. Its sad one of their whale sharks and baloogas died recently :(
 
Well I am going next month and was debating on wether to take the behind the scenes part...but thanks to Fatman II, it is now a done deal!!! lol
I will see if I could get some video (if allowed) and post it...
Can't wait!!!

I posted a vid a while back of the surge device on the reef tank. Unfortunately, I ran out of hosting space and had to take it down.

I highly recommend the behind-the-scenes tour as well.
 
Funny u guys mention this one of my fam members works there. Perhaps she can give u some more insights on the place.?

Amazing Pics!! icant wait to go...They do know if they let us all in, that we WILL be there all day right! LOL...
 
PS: Your allowed to take pics and video all you want even behind the scenes. You should see the size of their skimmers, their like 20feet tall!

JeffBrig, you could throw the video on youtube, googlevideo, or I believe photobucket even has a video function now... Just a thought if you still had the video around :)

Why does it have to be impressive to be a great idea? Imo its a cheap method of providing various things at once. Provides surge and aeration of the water all at once. Function > Form :)
 
I thought it was more impressive from below than above. The dump buckets hold quite a bit of water, but it really doesn't look like very much when it's dumped. They said the system was put together by Bruce Carlson.
 
Surge systems are a great idea that have been around a long time! When I watched this movie I felt like I was dumping dixie cups of water into my 180.
 
a trip to georgia sounds great, kinda close to macna though i don't know if wife will give permission to go.

i'm in for macna this year if there is a group of people going from the club i can hang with. (i'm sure quite a few)
