Georgia Aquarium

All aquariums have their own characteristics. To see big, should go to Georgia aquarium. My little one and a half year old girl likes a small aquarium in Mcwane center in BHM. :-)

Did a search and found this thread. I'm going to Tennessee Aquarium tomorrow for the first time. The only public aquarium I have to compare it to is the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, and I barely remember that.

I like the ripleys aquarium in downtown gatlinburg better then either of the other 2.. They have an awesome sps tank up there and lots of other cool saltwater tanks.. We did do the behind the scenes at the Georgia aquarium and that was pretty awesome being above the tanks and seeing skimmers that were 20 feet tall and pallets of instant ocean as far as you can see...

januray and feb are the best months to go
i went to ripleys a couple yrs back in jan, not much crowd plus got a room at the hotel next door extra cheap online
cost me $49 instead of the 200 it would of normally cost
ripleys and the atlanta ones are my favorite

Tennessee ....Had fun. Wish they had more reef fish, even if they didn't have more live corals. They could do a pretty fake reef with reef fishes pretty easily.

There were 2-3 field trip groups when we went. It was a lil rough at times..lol..but if not for all of them, it wouldn't have been crowded at all. Overall it was fun. It like the way the buildings and displays are put together. Sometimes the path you need to follow wasn't very clear.
