Getting a BTA to Split ? Ideas?

I have a BTA that gets the size of a dinner plate (No Joke) and it is taking up way to much real estate. Any ideas on how to get it to split? I have been feeding 2 times a week (mysis and silver sides). Any ideas to get it to split?

You can do a large water change (like 40-50%), and if that doesn't trigger a split, do another water change in a week.

If neither of the above water changes spur a split, you can raise your water temp about 5 degrees (depending upon your starting temp, and anything else in your tank that might be sensitive to such a temp swing) for a few hours, then lower it back down.

I've found both methods are effective in inducing splits.

I will do the water change this weekend. I have over 35 corals in my tankso I think they won't like the 84-85 temps from there normal 79. Thanks for the advice.

the best way is to remove the anemone and place it on a towel. Use a razor blade or scalpel and cut it in half directly through the mouth. Place the 2 anemones into a bucket or small tank of the same tank water ir was in before the split. Leave it in there for a few minutes to shed any slime and replace it into the original tank. After a few days or a week it should be able to eat again. Once it is eating again you can move it to a new tank if you like.

i feed mine regularly about every second day and then did a 30% waterchange. it split a few days later. i wasn;t trying to get it to split though
