Getting a Dwarf Angel to eat.

How long have you had him? Sometimes it takes a while for a new fish to eat the way we'd like them to, especially in QT. Keep trying brine, mysis, maybe a little nori... he'll get the hang of it eventually. Sometimes it helps to turn off all the pumps when you feed, so the food stays suspended in the water column a little longer.
Hi, I have two very small venusta angels in my holding (quarantine) tank now for 2 weeks. In the beginning they also didn't want to eat. What I did is the following:
- small pump (eheim 1048) blowing across the bottom of the tank (bare bottom) so that everything stays moving in the watercolumn.
- started feeding live artemia
- they took this, then mix this with frozen foods, they take now also only frozen
Now I only need to get them to eat flakes and then I am ready to put them in the display tank.
Oh, and give plenty of handing spaces, a stressed fish will not eat.

I have never had any fish not eat but i feel like i am in the minority here. About 3 months ago i got a Potters angel. I had waited almost 3 months for my lfs to get some in. I believe they got in 6 and i know that 4 of them died. Mine was in a tank of about 25 tomato clowns. The first day i went to get him he wouldnt eat so i waited and went back 3 days later. When i went back he ate but did so very timidly. That was all i needed to see so i got him. He ate withing 30 min of being in my QT and eats anything i feed.
I believe the tomato clowns were to aggressive and were stressing him out and thats why he wasnt eating. I imagine if your fish was in a similar situation before you got him this could carry over into your tank but should subside. Try clipping a piece of nori on the back glass and watch to see if he will pick at that.

Two things I have ever had trouble feeding were anthias and Potter's angel. Most other fish may be finicky or shy for a few days but once they come around the new environment they eat like pigs. Try add garlic in food to entice them. Also, feed limpid's with variety so they might find something they like to "break in".
