getting a large tank

I was reading some threads about people building moster tanks in their basement as the issues with weight/humidity and such. Most seemed to be pools with a couple thousand gallons.

I am looking at either getting a 8X4X30" or a 10x4x30". The largest of the two is 670 gallons. I am installing a whole house humidifier anyway(I live in Virginia and humidity is the name of the game) While i think the amount of space the weight is spread out should be ok on a concrete basement floor should I be concerned?

Any advice from you big tank people will be awesome.

of coarse all ways go bigger when you can.

on concrete basement floor i wouldnt worry about the floor. they are usual 3600 lbs per sq and your tank is spread out over 10x4 40 sq ft.

I have a 750 gallon (10' x 4' x 30") and its sitting on a 4" slab currently with no issues. I did make the stand with 18 legs to help spread out the weight. One thing I did fight with, and you might want to check in to this before setting up the tank, is that my floor was surprisingly unlevel over 10' and I had to do quite a bit of shimming. COming in with some leveling cement before you set up the tank might save you alot of headaches.
