Getting Anemones to move

I just aquired 2 anemones attatched to a nice piece of M. Island rock. I need to return the rock.

I tried to get them off during acclimation by using a small powerhead pointed at the foot/ base.

No dice.

I've also heard of dipping the anemone in thank water that has been chilled. Anyone know how cold? Current temp is 78F.

I've also placed the rock in a low light area in hopes the anemones will moved toward stronger lighting.

Any other proven methods out there for getting anemones to move??

Thanks!

I had to move one recently. I used my finger/fingernail to lift a tiny bit of the foot then after it let that lil bit go i slid my finger underneth (slowly) and it kept letting go as i moved my finger.

fingernails helped. I have also used the blunt end of a sandwitch toothpick to lift the first bit, but if you have shaky hands i wouldent recommend it. they'll lift up eisier than I thought

Uh I'd like ot know what kind of anenome before I recommend using the fingernail method! If its a Atlantic Carpet or similar you may be in for a painful suprise :)

Ya, the powerhead at the foot probably doesn't bother it too much. I have always heard that blowing the powerheard right at the mouth was the way to **** it off enough to move.
