Getting color back

I have some blue polyped montis that have lost the blue in the polyp. Any suggestions for getting the color back?

Good flow, water quality, stability. Lugol's is the best source for potassium, I dose it daily. Kent Essential Elements is crap, does nothing IMO.

I did pick up some lugols by brightwell aquatics. I'll work on that, and I ahve pretty good flow.

Side note though. On my new tank, it's a 29g biocube and I have a hydro koralia nano. Think it's too much to add a 1 or 2 in that tank instead? The nano definitly is not enough flow

Mine lost the blue when it was to far from the lights, I put it up higher and it was better not long after.

Pretty easy. I was dosing K and brought my level to 2x NSW so I stopped and started dosing Lugol's. Less is more IMO when it comes to trace element dosing.

You're potassium level was 800? How did you measures this?

Hey AllSPS, You are making a common mistake, Lugol's is a iodine/iodide solution not potassium, it contains Potassium Iodide and Iodine, and that adds Iodide and Iodine to your water, the potassium you need is Potassium chloride and Potassium sulfate to increase your K, Brightwell has a very good one, but I'm sure there are other brands that makes it.

Best,

Renato.

Look at what you said was the first thing in Logul's Potassium Iodide. Most Potassium sources are just Potassium Iodide. I agree that if you want to dose just Potassium then Potassium Sulfate is a better way to go. I think I was using the Brightwell Potassium when I was dosing but like I said I saw no difference. My salt has enough Potassium in it already. I was using H2Ocean now RSCP.

The potassium iodide containing in lugol's is a unstable form of iodide, that converts to iodine in the aquarium water, it will most likely show other symptoms related to iodine overdosing before you can start increasing your K, to increase K you must use Potassium chloride and Potassium sulfate that are the major sources of potassium. I'm also using H2Ocean salt but my system is still consuming a lot because of the BPs.
