Getting excited for the frag swap!!!

Hello all,

Just wanted to throw this out there, I have been a member in the past and must admit I have been the equivalent of a Christmas Catholic... I had only joined to attend the frag swap. Now that my experience and passion for the hobby have grown... I am looking forward to yet another frag swap. Maybe this time I can find a few fellow reefers round my parts to convince me to partake of the monthly fellowship for reasons other than to stock my new tank.

Looking forward to meeting everyone (again) and yes work on stocking up my tank.

SO when exactly is the frag swap this year?

as was mentioned of course not.

But with membership. I have seen other C-Sea members lend out pumps, lights, heaters, to other members due to setup failures as a stopgap. I myself had members give me coral when I had lost everything and had no money at the time to restock.

So membership is not just a benefit to the club numbers or legitimize your attendance to a club sponsored function. It builds bonds of people who like a family will jump up to help if they can. I've seen it and I've been a benefactor and donor under that same spirit.

At sparing 2 trips to McDonalds, or 5 or so gallons of gas, or sparing 20 song downloads will get you all of that. I cannot even think there is a reasonable comparison in the value of all of the above.

It's not the threat of going to hell like the speach the Christmas Catholics might get, but you miss out on alot.

i myself attending my first c-sea meeting friday and can't wait for the swap. i don't really have anything to swap yet, so i am going to network and get to know people. and maybe see some stuff i haven't seen before and buy some stuff too.

Everyone should start their QT tanks up soon. Take some words of advice from someone that knows... Treat, QT and watch all your corals before you put them in your display tank.

ask to see John Janda aka Bowman. He's the nice guy with the big smile on his face that handles membership.
Also, I think the c-sea.org website allows for you to mail in the membership in advance too.

I'm going to the frag-swap also, I won't have anything to trade because my corals arn't ready to frag yet. I'll buy membership too. By that time maybe they will be ready.
