Getting my first calm... did I miss anything?

I am getting my first clam today from the LFS. It has been there for a week and looks very healthy. It is a maxima. I have dual 250w 10k XM over the tank along with 260w of pc actinic the tank is 60gal 18" H all water perameters are stable and the tank is 9 months old. Is there anything special I need to do to aclimate it? It is about 3 or 4 inches in size and I already dose DT's to the tank so there is extra food for it. Do I need to aclimate it to my lights? At the store it is under 20k DE bulbs either 150w or 250w not sure. I think I have enough lighting to keep the clam on the sand bed if need be but I would like to put on a rock eventaully. I usually drip my new animals just double checking that this will work for the clam as well. If I am missing anyhting else please say so. Thanks
Derek

Acclimate slowly - by dripping like you have been. And make sure to check the foot for damage as well as parasitic snails. I think it would be fine on your sandbed. You'll want to start it out there anyway. Just make sure your pH is stable in your tank. Good luck!

Good idea to introduce the clam to the tank with the lights off. First start the clam on the sand bed.
