Getting off the hard stuff...

Well, I had been running my almost 6 month reef on city tap water. Just bit the bullet and bought a BRS 75 GPD RO/DI Plus system...
After the crazy weather we have been having I realize that its just not cool not knowing what is getting dumped into my tank.
One of my zoas and my sea fan seem to be acting different since the weather has started. It maybe the tuns of salt going into the water from the street salting or some chemicals being used to combat something I dont know about.
Now that I purchased it... I cant wait to have it... I think I will be doing 5 gallon water changes until I have changed the total amount of water.... 90 gallons.

it was the best investment I did. Having the ro/di water whenever you want is priceless. The other thing is if something is wrong in the tank, you can almost rule out the water.

Yeah, thats what I am going for here. I believe my corals may need food, but I wanted to rule out everything.

RODI is a great investment in the longevity of your tank. BRS is great and they stand behind their products. Ofcourse I bought mine off E-bay (100 GPD Water General) before I found BRS or Buckeye Field Supply.

Totally agree. RODI is a necessity for a good reef set-up. Congrats. You will not be disappointed...and at the very least, when (if) an issue does occur, you know it wont be from your source water now.

Tracking info says it will be here on Thursday. Can't wait!!! I just hope it's not delayed due to another 18" of snow we have coming on tuesday and Wednesday....

So I got my RODI setup, it was very easy!

Picked up a hose Y splitter and used it on the cold water line of my washing machine.

It's producing very well, I get 85psi and the water into the DI resin is 3tds! Out is of course 0... Very happy with it!
