Getting out... EVERYTHING for sale... FREE coral

Hey guys...

I've made the very tough decision to take some time off from the hobby. With a growing family and running around with life I simply find my interest has waned and it's now more of an expense and chore than a hobby. I might just set up a small basic FW community tank for my kids... and maybe after a few years when we're more settled in a larger house I'll build another system, but we'll just have to see how that pans out.

SO, I'm selling it all. Fish/Coral/Live Rock go first obviously, then equipment. You guys have first dibs, and I will give a heads up before I post this all in the General Drygoods Selling forum. (Hopefully Bill didn't already steal away all of my business  )

Everything is for sale, except most of the coral is FREE. Ask and ye shall receive. I want cleared out, whatever's left behind becomes a hitchhiker on a Live Rock purchase. Other generous members of this club are the ones to thank.

In the interest of keeping everything updated, please open the linked Word Document below for item availability.

Hey Joel. Sorry to hear you are getting out (for now...).

I'll take:
Monti cap: Green w/blue polyps
Orange Montipora Setosa frag
Giant cup mushroom
Montipora Digita
Brown/Green Acropora

It's possible I'd take the tang as well. Depends on how big he is. I have a 75gal as well that is in the process of being built, but the tang would go in a 55 till it's ready, which at the rate that I'm going will be a few months. I'd have to think about that one.

Once again, it's sad to see you heading out. I had a good time at the club meet at your house. And thanks to you my frag tank is up and running, but I need a new bulb. All well.
Joel

Now that I look back over the list, I feel a little greedy, even though you said not to. I should be able to pick the items up this weekend if that is ok.
PM sent.

Don't feel greedy... if it weighs heavy on your mind just snap some off and share with others at future meetings! And any tank is better than the trash can!

I believe you're thinking of Bill's meet, he lives near me though. ;)

Tang should be fine, he never seemed unhappy in my 75. He's not huge for a yellow tang, about average, maybe 3".

Small Pieces

Hey Joel,
Sorry to hear your getting out for a while. Good thing is most of us will still be here when you return and you will probably be able to get most of your corals back ;)

This may sound a bit crazy but, do you have anything small (corals) My tank is small so I wouldn't want to take up a lot of room with any one thing. It doesn't matter what kind of coral. I like just about anything.

Thanks,
Copper

I'll take the Xenia if still available and the salt.

Hey Joel,
While I am thinking of it I would like some rock as well. However, I only need about 20 pounds. If anyone else would be interested in the rest maybe we could pick it up at the same time. Just let me know.
Thanks,
Copper

Yep, the Xenia is still available. It is VERY cool to watch, just be warned that they can be fast spreaders ("weeds" to some), so if you notice it starting to get unrully you should prune it back in a small tank.

As far as small, I'll put you down for the Green Trumpet coral too. Very bright and pretty under actinics, and has a very tight clustering growth for me only about 2" across.

Anything else, particularly unclaimed SPS that you see you're welcome to as well... I can just snap something off.

So for now I'm putting you down for Xenia, Trumpet, and IO Salt. Tack on ~20lbs of rock for good measure.

thanks!

You can count me in on the orange Monti and the skunk cleaner shrimp. I am also interested in some the balance of the live rock.

I'll take all the remaining live stock, fish, coral, and live rock. Let me know when I can pick up and pay :) I realize 2 people have not committed to a definite amount of live rock, but I'll still take whatever remains off your hands so you can start selling the dry goods.

svynx, the skimmer with the mesh and venturi mods is noisy... no way around it. but if you replace the stock impeller it may quiet down a bit. there's also a silencer for the intake but it will only work with the stock impeller. that said the only noisy part is the opening of the airline intake so if you have a way of isolating it, it may help? it's running in my basement. you can hear it when you stop over and decide...

the return pump is awesome. I have it plumbed at about 10' of head pressure and it still moves a lot of water. there's no fan on it, and when it's running there's only, in my opinion, a gentle hum. again, you're welcome to check it out when you stop over.

Bunch of PM's sent.

Thanks everyone! I can't tell you how appreciative of moving the livestock as quickly as it went. As of now, all of the livestock is claimed!

I have sort of a busy morning in the office so I'll have to update everything a little bit later. I'll be in contact with everyone, thanks again! :)

Just as a heads up, I'm going to start posting a few dry goods in the For Sale forum... starting with "The Reef Aquarium - Vol. 3". Also the Outer Orbit system and RO/DI are probably next in line.

(Joel, I'm holding off on the skimmer and return pump until you get a chance to take a look on Friday.)

Thanks:dance: The more I think about it, I'm leaning towards taking both. My skimmer has been modded enough times I think I actually deminished it's skimmate production. And I need an external pump for my 75 build.
I'd take your lights off of you in a heartbeat, but can't spend the cash right now. Good light. Hope you find a home for it.

Okay great! Skimmer has been pulling out a lot of smelly brown liquid and goop. And the pump is a champ, never gave me a problem... I'll try to give you as much PVC plumbing connected to the pump as possible.

Yeah I'm debating whether I want to fuss with shipping that massive lighting system... I've still got the original box and styrofoam, but it's like $60+ shipping to Cali, lol.
