getting out

After much thought and consideration, and a recent tank crash, I have decided I need to get out of the hobby for a while. Between work and some remodeling at home I do not have much time to keep the tanks up, and they are suffering for it. This morning I awoke to find that my softie tank had crashed during the night wiping out everything, and that was the final straw.

I will have to post stuff in waves because I am at work and do not know for sure everything I have. Some of the stuff will have to wait until the tanks that still contain life are gone, but after that everything reef and tank related is going. I considered saving some stuff in case I wanted to get back into it, but have decided that a clean break is best.

65 Gallon "“ my zoanthid tank, although not as densely populated as it once was. Tank with black stand and canopy, which could use a fresh coat of paint. The sump is a bit oversized because I had planned on moving to a taller stand after some home remodel work. Works fine, just a bit louder than normal due to a high spot in the drain line. I will have to check the light brand name, but it is a 250w x 2 MH with two T5 supplemental bulbs. Have to look for MH temp, but I replaced them middle of last summer. Eiblis Angel, one Alleni damsel and a yellowtail damsel. The eiblis really likes to pick at hard corals, so I would recommend he stay in a soft coral tank. There are a couple of brittle stars and some cleanup crew. A bit of an algae bloom, partially because I have slacked on cleaning, and because it could use a cleanup crew refresh. $500

RSM #1 "“ I have two Red Sea Max tanks. The first one is the softie tank that crashed last night. I will clean it out, but would like to keep the rock wet, and let the buyer strip it down. I have an aftermarket pump in the back of circulation due to the factory ones going out. It is the older model without the digital timer, but I have added on the surface skimmer attachment the Red Sea offers. Skimmer still works fine. I have no idea why it crashed, and did not have time to look into it this morning. I just fed the clownfish that were in there last night, so it was very sudden, you may want to cook the rocks before reusing them. $300

RSM #2 "“ This one is doing better. Mostly LPS tank, but there are some zoas (generic) and a bunch of the blue clove polyps. There are a few small assorted LPS including a plate coral (about 2" across) that is still attached to the rock it grew out of. Yasha Hashe goby is the only fish. I have not seen his pistol shrimp buddy in a while, but there was one in there. They shacked up together at first, then kind of parted ways. Having a bit of an aptasia problem, but have not worked on getting it cleared up yet. $375

Nanowave 9 "“ I actually have two of these, which are empty at the moment. They both need new bulbs, but they are nice little self-contained setups. $35/each

Nanocube 24 "“ I have had this a long time, it was my SPS tank for a couple of years until it crashed while we were on vacation, but I never set it back up. I modified it to have two MJ1200 pumps in it to get better flow in the tank. It was running open top with a 20" Sunpod 150w MH over it. I do not have the top anymore, but there were some many heat problems open was the only way to go. I would consider splitting these. Tanks/stand $45 Light $75 Both $110

Other tanks "“ I have three 29 gallon tanks and stands and a 55 gallon with stand and canopy. All of these have been used as freshwater tanks at one point or another, and I am not the original owner of any of them, so I cannot say what has been dosed in them. 55g $60 29g $35/each

I will post more items and pictures tonight after work. If you have questions, please let me know. I live out in Eaton but work in Ft Collins, so I would be willing to bring any of the items that do not involve living creatures in with me before work. I just ask that you are sure you want to buy before I haul them in so I am not dragging this stuff back and forth.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to get some detail about what I have for sale. Thanks for looking.

what kind of pumps do you have? Lighting? lookin into a few items and was wondering what you had? Also are you willing to part out the tanks if you can find people to buy things?

I will have to dig through everything tonight when I get home, off the top of my head I could not say what I may or may not have.

If I could be sure that the critters get dispersed, I would be willing to break things down.

Thanks.

So, I am dragging behind getting the rest of my list together.
To update what I have, one nanowave9 is sold, and the other spoken for. The nanocube is spoken for as well.

Once I get stuff moved in the garage I have two and a half, or three and a half buckets of reef crystals for $40 each for the full ones.

I also have a lot of live rock. Probably 70+ pounds in tanks with nothing growing on it, and well over 100 pounds with zoas and such, that I will sell off individually if nobody wants the whole tank. Let me know if there is any interest in the live rock and I will get a better idea of how much I have, and a price.

Thanks again for looking.

Here are some more details and items:

The tank is RR, and since I could not remember I will say the light is the Aquamedic 2X250w, and I believe the return pump is a mag-drive 9.5, but I could not see the size on it.

Here are a couple of shots:

As mentioned, the stand and canopy could use some fresh paint.

Just noticed when I was taking the shot that there are some cracks in the glass over the T5's. Should not be hard to find replacements.

Few other things I have found cleaning up:

RODI system. I was in the process of upgrading this when I changed over to the Kold Steril system, so I have a few extra filters for it. Two extra 5micron and two 1micron filter, as well as a refillable media filter for carbon. It has a booster pump to help with output. $50 for all of it.

CPR backpack skimmer. It has seen a lot of use, but still works fine. $25

Taam Polario powerhead - reverse direction to create water movement in the tank. I modified the mount to fit up closer to the glass in the 65, but pulled it out when I change the tank over to zoanthids. $45

Kent phosphate reactor. Is missing the o-ring around the top, probably find one at Ace or Lowes. $10

I have not taken photos of everything yet, here some things without pictures:

Bulk reef supply two part kit, recipe number one. I have the starter kit, which has the gallon bottles with the pumps. $20

Three pound container of lignite carbon and one pound of granular GFO from bulk reef supply. $5 each

Berlin protein skimmer - Older model that can go in sump or hang on the side. The pump is dead (RIO1700) but any pump in the flow range will work. $30

Mag-drive 9.5 pump - was a backup pump just in case, so it has only seen water a couple of times. $40

Two buckets of Reef Crystals salt - $35 each. I have another bucket that has hardly been used that I will sell once all the livestock is gone. I will price it once I see how much is left.

There is probably some more stuff in the basement that I will find. I will post it as I do.

Thanks for looking

PMs responded.

The Nanowave 9s are both gone, as well as the phos reactor and the carbon.

The nanocube and sunpod are currently spoken for, but not sold yet.

I will try to keep things updated.

Thanks

Jason

Sorry the polario moved on last night, I forgot to update this site.

Here is what is left:
The two RSM setups
The 65g tank without the rock
2.8 buckets of Reef Crystals salt.
the BRS two-part dosing kit

I will try to get some photos of the livestock today since it appears they will have to be sold separately.

Thanks,

Jason

Do you still have the aqua medic light fixture left? The one with MH and T5's?
Let me know what you would take for it, and the length of the fixture?

Thanks,

Wes
