Actually Dave,
I personally wasnt going to buy anything from him, but I know someone who was going to. Its pretty obvious there was alot of interest from other members buying stuff from him also. So yes I consider it snipered from me, and others in the club alike. I dont much appreciate the fact of being told to shut up either, you obviously dont know me very well, and I advise to watch what you say. It is my opinion and I have every right to voice it.

Nice way to treat someone that helped a complete stranger move.... pretty obnoxious actually. If I knew you were like that I woulda never offered my help.

if we could get things wholesale too, then it'd be a different story... I think the LFS should keep away when we have our own chances to get a good deal...

Anyone is able to buy from anyother person. there is no law that says someone who owns a store can't buy from other people online. That would be like a wholesaler being mad because a LFS bought corals and algae from us reefers who have "propigation" and them crying because we reefers are stealing their wholesale buisiness.

please...... to be mad because someone beat you to the punch on a system that was for sale is akin to crying over spilt milk in a dairyfarm.

Peope buy and sell stuff all the time and "flip it" for a profit. Car dealerships do it daily. It's just silly to be PO'd at a store's proprieter because he bought something you were interested in also. It's not like you gave the seller 20.00 and he later told you he sold it and got 40.00 for it from a higher price paying person who took EVERYTHING.

It's kinda like why I'm stuck with a 29 gallon tank, hood and stand.... but no lights, rock, filters or corals now...... Everyone wanted the goodies, but I wanted to sell it all and get my money out of it and ....well, now I;m left with some the stuff and It serves no purpose.

If I was the OP, I'd sell it all in one shot too. He got what he wanted.. 800.00, no delivering, no PM's no hemming and hawing or dickering over stuff.

puuuuuuullllllleeeeaaassseeee. dave is a 100% right on this. i have been selling off my corals for less than of 1/2 of what it would cost in a store and i have been inidated with pms from members here trying to knock my prices down even more crying they dont have the money. i just sold the rest of my stock to a lfs for a fair price in fact the store said they cant even buy what i sold them at wholesale price. winnker who i have never met gave people the opportunity here no one bought it so he sold it somewhere else. boo hooo!!!

Actually scottyc people did want to buy the stuff. They sent numerous replys back as seen in the thread above. If you want to unload your stuff to a LFS thats fine, but there are ways to go about it. If you want to offer a LFS your system maybe you should call around asking all the LFS if they are interested, rather than posting on here to get everyone else interested, than just unload it to a LFS. As far as I knew, this forum was for our members, not for LFS to hunt down good deals. I dont mind LFS browsing our forums either, as they can see what the latest buzz is, and what people are interested in. But I do think they should leave the private sales to the members its being offer to. I'm not crying about prices, and I do support most of our LFS. I DO pay there prices too. I just dont really see it as being right to offer members something to eventually reply back with ohh sorry everyone a LFS came and got everything. If thats how you want to sell it , than privatly goto the LFS asking around(or call), if no luck than post here saying you would rather sell as a whole system. This isnt a buying/selling forum for LFS, its a private forum for our members. When was the last meeting you've seen a LFS owner at??? I personally have only been to 2 meetings, but have never heard of any LFS owners being at any previous meetings.
Call it want you want, say I'm crying about prices etc..... but obviously some others agree with me here.

I have had many opportunities to sell to LFS's but have always chosen to give back to the club whenever possible Thats just my opinion. I have contacted scottyc about purchasing some corals. I never argued price. He never really got back to me. I got one reply- Your 3rd in line and never heard back from him again.

So i took it as whatever and didn't push it. I don't waste my time or anyone else's.

I hate nothing more then when people waste other peoples time. If you can sell a whole system at what you are asking. Then who cares if its a LFS. In your thread it would be kind to put it is listed else where's and reserve the right to sell at anytime. You will often see this in the selling forum.

I do agree with ESPI. I'm just saying thier are considerations to follow. But HEY, THATS JUST IMO. lol

Luckily i wasn't involved in any purchases from this seller.

So everyone keep the peace of the forum.

Hay , it's all about selling it. I have tanks and corals up on flyers at LFS on the post-it boards aswell as selling on-line in forums, e-bay, and craigs list.

I have peopel call and email from allover the place. it is just about buying and selling. Noone wants to pay more than they have to for anything.... Us at retail, or dealers and wholesalers included.

As to keeping the peace, we are all friends here

no worries. I thougth it was well understood and taken that my post weere to be swallowed with a grain of salt at all times, and occasionaly chased with a tequilia

Read my reply to your PM if you havent already. We are all friends here. No harsh feelings to anyone involved. I 100% agree with Lakeside that there are certain considerations to take when going about this though. I'm glad winnker got what he was asking and didnt get lowballed, and I dont mind seeing a LFS get good deals. Without them getting good deals, they couldnt ever pass the deals onto us. We should all just be a little considerate-LFS included, when buying/selling on our forums though and make sure our true intentions are clear reguarding the sale.

I asked to see them in person/ arrange a time. Your response was there was a line and you would contact me when my turn came around. You did not state "sure let me know when" Or we would have setup a time. Being as long ago as it was you were either busy at the time or had others interested and I was asked to wait.

I could not see the harm in seeing what you have and possibly purchase something at that time, but i respected your wishes.

lakeside,the first batch of corals i sold ( if i had it left in my inbox i would forward it to you) that i said let me know when you want to come out,you NEVER responded. the last batch i sold (look up my old posts) i was giving people that pm'd me in order that said they will buy my corals first right to them to be fair,they showed up and bought them. then i updated the thread. maybe next time i'll sacrifice a virgin first in order to make sure you wont feel slighted,good christ.

Tell me about it. I do believe the selling/buying etiquette has been lately as loose as Ebay's. One guy here ( you know who you are ) posted his stuff for sale. I call him he tells me to call back the next day. I call him the next day he tells me it's better if we talk tomorrow. The following day without a hint of guilt the deal closed he sold out to an LFS. So I think this is a good time to get this off my chest here and now: It's just plain rude all around.
I make a point of never dealing with these kinds of folks ever.

Plandy - I think you my be talking about me. Frankly, I'm not all that sorry as I was in a hurry to sell and it all worked out so much better for me to sell it all as a whole than to sell in pieces. Nothing personal to anyone I may have screwed over but it needed to go and quickly.

Also I agree with Dave in saying that it fair game until it's gone. Suck it up and chalk it down as a loss my friend. This CDMAS board is really starting to get into way too many debates about childish BS. If some has a problem with something done or said by another member on this board, ow about you shut up and keep it to yourself. If you have nothing good to say then shut your trap. What the heck is going on with this club board lately?

ScottyC1 who did I rip a new one? Did I mention any names of members personally when I said I will not support this. Did I get personal and verbally assault any members? No I voiced my opinion on the issue at hand. If anything I ripped Todd a new one by saying I wouldnt support his store, never once did I say a thing about winnker on a personal note. I'm glad he was able to get his sale, just not happy about the way it came about.
Actually I think you(ScottyC1) informed your interested crowd in your "for sale thread" very well, you were up front and told everyone you had a possible deal coming on, than gave updates along the way, that I can see from the thread anyways. I'm done on this matter, it is now well known how I feel on the issue and I have nothing more to say about it.

Lets just drop this and leave well enough alone. I didnt mean to start a fight between anyone. I was just curious as to how others felt about LFS buying from private sellers on our boards and wanted to voice my opinion on the matter.

NOTE: Dave and I have settled our diffrences. I have no harsh feeling toward Dave ESPI, winnker, scottyc1, or anyone else for that matter. We are all friends here.
