Getting rid of Paly's?

Reefist

Hi,
I have so many palys that they are taking up prime real estate. They are actually nice green ones but like I said they are taking over.Stiinging the bases and branches of corals I like to keep. I can't take the rocks out with out dissambling the whole reef. I've scrubbed them once before then did a water change but I lost a few corals. They came back any way. I have a matted file fish but he has no taste for them. Is there any other way?
Thanks
Tom

Thanks

you could squirt a little kalk paste into/on them, thats worked for me in the past. I used a syringe type thing from an old salifert test kit

Maybe some one can loan you a copper banded butterfly fish

I tried this in my tank and he didn't touch them. If there are certain types of fish that are supposed to eat them it seems like it depends on the individual fish you get......some may eat them and some will not. Based on my research most people find that they can't find a fish that will eat them after trying all of the different species that some other people have recommended. I tried the Copperband, Angel, Filefish, etc.

Be careful removing them.....they all have some level of toxins. It's best to wear gloves if you are doing battle with them.

Have a Potters but the problem is I would have to starve the tank for any fish including the file fish to get a taste for them. And then they might aquire a taste for something you don't want them to. The last time I scrubed them there was flesh all over the tank landing on corals stinging them an eventually causing infections. The only thing I can see is the Majano wand but these palys are pretty big so I suspect I would only be able to extinguish one a week. Just need to find out if it would work before I dump the cash.I have injected them with Kalk but they don't always die. This is my 3rd go around.
