I have been using two (triple outlet) heavy duty GFCI extension cords to run my tank. Is changing wall sockets as simple as buying a couple of GFCI sockets from Home Depot and swithing them with existing sockets?
Yes and no. One GFCI will cover all outlets after it.
If you only have one circuit you only need one gfci. Just make sure its between you and the circuit breaker. Test all outlets afterwards with the test button on the GFCI outlet to make sure those sockets are protected.
