maybe I wasn't clear. Mixed together randomly so the GFO can't clump together and packed in the reactor so it can't tumble. It can actually go in a canister or hangon filter if you do it that way.

I think they aren't mixed because the coarse GFO can grind on and release dust from the carbon. And the flow requirements for optimal GFO and Carbon use differ. Carbon should not tumble, whereas, GFO should be more of a fluidized bed.
