GFO in canister filter

Randy,
IIRC you had or do use GFO in a Magnum canister filter. How do you actually put it in there. Do you put it in a bag, wrap in floss or how inside the carbon holder? Were you just using a few tbls?? Do you use the outer bonded fliter floss as well?

I have used it that way, yes. It is a magnum canister that comes with a basket, and I put it in there, typically with carbon. The carbon takes up more space, and together they make up about 2 cups or so. No floss.

I do not routinely use it.

I have one of the filters, I was just afraid the GFO would get pushed right through the holes in the carbon basket(holder)
Just trying to find a "cleaner" way to use the stuff. It really can make a nasty mess.:eek1:

I rinsed the GFO while in the basket, so any that would get out went down the drain.
