GFO - your experience?

Anyone has experience using GFO bulk from reefsupplies.ca?

What's your takes on it?

Planning to use it with IM Aquagadget mid size reactor to tackle hair algae that starts to developing in my 4 months old tank.

ESV product is Carbon, they do not have GFO to my knowledge.
I use Two Little Fishies Phosban with good results.
Coralife has a product I tried but it does not get me as low as Phosban.
Many use Bulk Reef Supply's product with good results.

is it possible to use carbon and GFO in IM aquagadget mid size reactor? How to separate them in the tube?

If you are going to run carbon and GFO together, mix the two and place the sponges on top as to not let the combined media tumble. If you let it tumble, the GFO as it is harder, will grind the carbon to dust. Also, keep in mind, carbon will exhaust in 2 weeks and GFO will exhaust closer to 4 - 6 weeks, so use 1/4 to 1/3 the amount of GFO that you'd normally use when you mix it with the full amount of carbon.

haven't measured them yet, but I can see strains of HA growing everywhere (not to the point where they are out of control yet)
