Gfo?

i've read HC GFO can lower the phosphate at a faster rate than their regular GFO and you can use less media. it can also be regenerated. the product is not available around here so i have no experience with it though.

I use high capacity GFO. It weighs about 3 times as much (I think) as the regular stuff and costs more of course. I'm not sure that it removes PO4 faster but it may.

I do believe it lasts significantly longer however. I base this on algae growth & intervals between glass cleanings. This is valuable to me as my reactor is a bit hard to get to. It also seems to rinse out a little cleaner with less water but this isn't a major advantage IMO.

I use Phosguard because it's supposed to reduce phosphate and silicate. Seemed to work, it defeated by diatom bloom. I tried GFO and Rowaphos in my reactor but both allowed particles to be released into the tank due to the small size with my AIO reactor.
