I'm looking for the exact dimensions of the dosing unit. Is it the same size as the profilux 3 controller? Would it be better to by the stand alone or the other one?

If you do not have a profilux controller then go for the stand alone version, if you do have the Profilux then go for the slave version

If the standalone can be controlled by the profilux, buy the standalone. It's much easier to sell when you have to. No one really wants the doser that has to be tied with a profilux controller in order to use it.

No the stand alone can not be controlled by the ProfiLux. As the name suggests it is a stand alone unit that has its own built in controller with no external path for hook up to the ProfiLux

I would get the one that can be controlled by the profilux if you have (or plan to buy) a profilux. IMO there is enough of a community where you shouldn't have a problem selling it either way. I had one a few years ago when I kept reef tanks and loved it. And I had no problems selling mine when I decided to go FOLWR.
