Yup I am setting up a GHL system. and nead some help.

OK we have the 3ex (fw5.0) with two 6D-D-PAB, One DP module, two LED simulators, Redox/PH card, DALI card, two PH, two Redox, two temp, one conductivity, one Optolevel.

1) OK downloaded PC software 5.0.4.2 is we good so far?
2) Connected system as per manual.
3) Switched on power.
4) Connected to PC. WOW got connection.
5) Unplugged DP bus and PU 2 bus.
6) Set PU 1 to s1...s6 by selecting system then plug units on the PC. Selected the little box that said S1.4 1...24. Program plugs etc cool that worked.
7) Unplugged PU1 and plugged PU2 did the same as above this time programming S7..s12.
8) Unplugged PU2 and plugged in the DP and did the same as above but selected DP option. That works

now when I connect all together the PU's work as ONE. In other words only s1..s6. The PU I programmed to s7..s12 don't work. Tried to swap PUs and reprogram.

My mind is in another mode at the moment so any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

Ok here is what I did. With the ProfiLux NOT connected to the PC. I reset the ProfiLux to factory default. I also did a PAB system reset. Set a PAB group (1) and then went to Assign devices. Got a "No PAB devices found" on the ProfiLux. Repeated the procedure. Same result. Checked all as per diagnostic still no joy. However if I go to "configure devices" the two serial NO's of the PAB bar appear on the screen. Will not allow me to select one.

So I dismantled the whole setup and reconnected just one PAB power bar. Reset PAB and controller. No change. Tried another PAB cable, swapped PAB bars, and and and......

What I did notice is that one must select Digital power bars for the dosing pump module to work.

Now if I plug the Dosing pump into s5..8 and select that option on the PC software I get a coms error and the system hangs.
Also ProfiLux will not find the dosing pump on Digital power bars. The socket NO's do not go greater than 17. Hmmm....

I am sure it is a minor thing I am overlooking but the ProfiLux distributor only reopens on the 5 Jan. and i will be very fustrated by then.

I did not do a PAB power bar FW update. Where does one find out what ver they are on?

Firstly  Welcome to profiLux it is really good to see you here ;)

Please give me a short while to get back in the office and i will address the post in detail for you ;)

The issue is you are connecting the PAB devices individually then programming them, this means when you disconnect the first one it will lose its initial state.

Connect all PAB devices
Assign devices
Set numbering

http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/downloads/Description_PAB_V500.pdf

Once you have done this you can then program the doser, this should be set from the first available socket after the last PB socket, i.e socket 13. Program this through the software and under socket function.

In regards to numbering not going past 17, sounds like you are running old firmware.

You can update the firmware here

Software

PLEASE follow the firmware update proceedures including all online tips that appear when downloading, it is best done over native RS232 or you can do it over USB, when updating from older versions it is also adviseable to have all devises disconnected to stop Windows USB drop outs.

Connect all PAB devices did that many times
Assign devices The profiLux controller gives a "No devices found
' message on the display

Set numbering. The two PAB powerbar serial numbers are shown. tried to select the PAB using the < and > arrow no luck selected enter on the PAB and controller reverted to display mode

Once you have done this you can then program the doser, this should be set from the first available socket after the last PB socket, i.e socket 13. Program this through the software and under socket function. No issues with the doser if plugged into S1..4. Have to set "Digital powerbars to on for the yellow led (coms indicator to come on. The only issue i have is if I plug the doser into S5..8

Yup same as with AQT

Thank you for the advice. I will look into the FW updates later tomorrow. New years eave here and the celebrations are beginning. Have a good one and i will keep you updated.:celeb2:

I managed to sort it all out.:dance::dance:

The issue was in the FW version on the ProfiLux controller. The version was FW 5.00m
The issues i was having were addressed in FW 5.03c update

I updated to FW5.05f

However one does not have to disconnect the PAB power bar to configure the two Power bars. it is very simply done on the head unit.

I also found out that the PC software does not allow for configuring the PAB power bars.

Yep as all above ;)

PAB is configured through the profiLux, this is set to change with PLC6.

Yep for configuration you have everything plugged in on the PAB string.

Great to hear its all coming together, let us know if you need more help ;)
