GHL Profilux Plus II problems

I have a GHL Profilux Plus II, a 4 unit dosing pump and a 6 socket powerbar. I have been using them for a few years without any problems but today the green power and yellow communication lights on the powerbar were flashing and none of the sockets were activated when they were programed to be on. I was using the powerbar to control two heaters controlled by the GHL temperature probe and only realised that there was a problem when the temperature of the tank water had dropped.

I have tried to reassign the sockets on the powerbar but it is still not responding although the doser appears to be working as it should.

Have you any advice as to how I might rectify the problem?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Di

Thanks. I have emailed reef dreams & GHL but I've not had any replies yet. I'm getting really frustrated though as having to use old fashioned heaters instead of precision titanium ones as they have to be controlled via the temperature probe. The temperature fluctuates a lot with the old ones though. :-(

I use the powerbar to control the peri pump to deliver Vodka/RO to my nitrate reactor & control lighting in the sump too.

Any suggestions of how I can fix the problem would be really helpful.

Thanks, Di

This suggestion is probably not going to help you much.
But I keep a spare power bar for situations like this (infact I use 2 and have 2 spares).
Only real thing I can suggest is to swap out the communications cable. Swap out a serviceable power bar to see if it will fix the problem.
Basically it sounds like something has failed as it WAS operating, and the problem item needs to be fixed/replaced.
(Yes the cable can fail in use due to a possible undetected fault in manufacture or use that has not just failed, the voltages used are small)
It is even possible light corrosion on the plugs is causing a resistance.

Thanks for your replies. I have managed to get it all working ok at the moment so I'm not really sure why it was playing up.
Hoping it'll behave now. :)
