Ghost Shrimp Mortality

I have a 10 gallon filled half way that I keep my ghost shrimp in on the porch (cause they stink). I have an air line in it, but is there a better way to not lose so many. ie. filtration etc.? BTW they are the freshwwater ones not "salt"

I was putting those in my 10 gal plant tank. Figured for as cheap as they are I would put 2 doz in there at a time. Would loose half in a week. Be down to 5-6 in 2 weeks. I dont think they have a very long life and its probably not that great the way they raise and handle them. To put it into comparison, I bought 4 amano shrimps 4 years ago and still have 3 of them.

They are in a covered screen room, so it's not that hot!. I feed them some flake and they are in fresh water so I don't think PH, Nitrates matter.

ever do any water changes?maybe poor water quality(feeding, waste) and warmer weather is doing it. stick a little power filter or bubble up sponge filter and put a full 10 gallons in it. do a 30 % water change every week and watch your feedings.

Ok got a good HOB filter and water is clear and shrimp swimming around. Is flake ok to keep them fed??
