Gary,

Thanks a bunch for compliment...

Here's a few things about the tank:

I feed a couple Chalices with the same food as the fish... Frozen Brine Shrimp. I feed the fish some other stuff too... Mysis shrimp and Cyclopeze. I don't feed the SPS coral specifically. I feed the fish in the morning and evening but with one of the foods; on the weekends they get fed a couple more times a day if I'm not too busy with other stuff.

I perform a water change once per week--five gallons. I mix up the water for the next change at the same time and keep it aerated.

When I first started, I dosed two-part but went to a Calcium reactor just over a year and a half ago... That's when I noticed the biggest change in growth/stability with the SPS. This investment is well worth it... It's a small PM calc reator with a 10 pound tank and stuff. I traded it for some lighting I had on hand plus got some extra cash in my pocket .

Not sure if the flow makes a big difference but currently have a couple Tunze 6100s at 30% power; but, I've had success with Korallas too. Also have a MP20 on the back center glass

Keeping the temp stable is important to me; I'm keeping at around 77 in the winter and 78-79 in the summer... The MH lighting will go off at 80 degrees. I use a small $10 fan from Wal~Mart for cooling; it really works well and is much cheaper than a chiller.

I test for Alk/Calc about once a week... I've had my Alk as high as 16 with no adverse effects but 12 should be the upper limit... It's been stable at 7.5 lately... Calc is about 420. I'm very happy with those numbers. The pH is between 8.20 to 8.40

I've heard it said that stability is the key and I certainly beleive it.

Lights are only 2 150 MH 10ks with 4 t-5 superactinic suppliments--Current USA 36" OuterOrbit fixture.

Hope this helps!

Craig
