I'm thinking of selling my Clarion Angels. The reason being is that they don't like any other angels in the tank. They're fine with every other type of fish including wrasses, triggers, parrotfish, etc. However, I'd like to put my bandits and others smaller Angels in my FOWLR tank.
The larger clarion is quite famous because it was the first captive bred clarion sold here in the states. I bought it from Live Aquaria maybe a couple of years ago. It's been featured in a few articles. My guesstimate is that it's about 5". I wouldn't call it a full blown adult size but it did lose its juvenile markings a couple of months ago.
My smaller Clarion is about 3",wild caught and still has its juvenile markings. I've had it since it was like 1.5". They've both have always been kept together. They don't really fight but the larger one does assert its dominance once in awhile. And for those who don't know, Clarions are very hearty Angels, and some say bulletproof. They eat everything under the sun like pigs.
I've had them both in my reef tank before too and they didn't kill any corals. My tank is mostly SPS with a large Pectina colony. They do like to 'mouth' some corals though so my daytime PE was minimal.
I know there is no way I'll get what I originally paid for the CB Clarion since the rest of the clutch was eventually released. I think I paid $5k for it originally. I'd be happy to get $2k for each one though. If anyone is seriously interested in a beautiful centerpiece, I can post/send pics/videos.
Thanks for looking
