Interested in this light fixture. Does the price include bulbs and is there a choice on bulbs.

Can you give me any feed back, have you operated one of these. Is thier light spillage, how bright are they, what about the reflectors, etc,

I've checked out thier website but I would appriciate an independant view, since it is quite a hefty investment.

Thanks MGB

Hi MGB,

The price for this fixture does include the lamps. If you prefer, we could actually get you any of the Giesemann lamps in the MH's and T5's to go with this unit.

Light spillage is very minimal. This is one night thing about all of the Giesemann fixtures, is their light spillage, or lack thereof, is about the best in the industry.

The new Infiniti and Spectra incorporate Giesemann's newest reflectors. They are no longer the hammer toned, narrow spray style. They are now much wider, multi sided, high reflective aluminum, that keeps restrike to an absolute minimum. The light they are throwing is equal to a Reef Optix III from Sunlight Supply. You won't get the spread of a Lumenarc style reflector, but you will get more intensity. Unless you're lighting a footprint of 30" x 30" or bigger per bulb, then these reflectors would be perfect.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Sounds like the infiniti is perfect for my set up. What I like about this fixture is the ability to move the halides around and put the coverage exactly where you want it. I'm presuming this unit comes with external ballasts and the hanging kit too.

What would you recommend as far as halide/t5 Giesemann bulbs. I'm thinking for an sps dominated tank. Thanks for the info, great help.

I've got the 24" 250watt and love it, you really can't go wrong. As far as bulbs go, I've used all of them their 13K Marine, 14.5K Coral and the 20K. With the right combo the 14.5k looks awesome. For a while I ran that bulb with 2 blue+, one Super actinic and a aquablue. Right now I'm running their 20K blue. I like to change every once and a while.

MGB,

It really depends on your taste. I would personally do either the 13k or 14.5k with a combination of pure actinic and actinic plus blues. I like a tank that is more crisp white, rather than blue however.
