Giesemann Spectra questions.

A couple quick questions . . .

1) How long would it take to get a 48 inch 2x400watt + 2x54watt Giesemann Spectra?

2) Doesn't Giesemann sell separate dimmable T5 ballasts and couldn't those be connected to the Spectra fixture?

3) Can the Giesemann metal halide ballast drive a Radium bulb?

Thanks!

Hey Joe, I have an inquiry into Giesemann about this, just waiting to hear back. I know they offer this option in their Maxtrix fixture, but I'm not certain about the Infiniti or Spectra fixtures.

The MH ballast can run a Radium with no problem at all since it's an electronic ballast.

Good news, it is indeed available as an upgrade. The bad news is that it's a $499 upgrade to the price of the fixture. This is for the dimmable ballasts and the controller for it.

Hi Jeremy

Sorry to dig up an old post but did you ever get an answer back from Giesemann?

I am about to order one and I see the electronic ballast is an upgrade.

Q1. Is the original ballast internal?

Q2. I plan to run Radiums, so which ballast would be better?

Q3. How many cords does this fixture have?

Thank you very much in advance!

Buy your own American electronic ballasts, don't waste your money on the giesemann ballasts. You can use switchable electronic ballasts like the lumatek no problem, and it will make the fixture cheaper. I'm ordering a 72" spectra this week.
