Gigantea and tank breed juv clowns

Added a lovely blue giantea to my system today - in the frag tank for now but under good lighting and lots of flow.

Didnt expect much reaction from my tank breed juv clowns i recently got from the local store......however, this was the nem 60 SECONDS after adding it to the tank!

Sorts out the "tank breeds dont know a nem" theory.....as you americans would say.....myth busted

My tank raised nigripes took every bit of 4 minutes to acclimate to a gigantea (yours may have set a new record). I think that theory about tank raised clowns went the way of the Dodo bird. Thanks for posting your evidence. I hope this e-urban legend fades. CB clowns will take to an anemone just fine. Cheers

I can see the picture fine. How much flow is your Gigantea receiving and how much light is it under? Beautiful blue color too btw.

There is a big misconception of people believing/assuming tank bred clownfish "are less likely to host or they loose their hosting abilities." Your tank bred clows are just following their natural instincts to host one of their natural anemones as they do in the wild.

its sat right under the return to my frag tank from the skimmer (about 4000lph) - its getting very vigourus flow and looks good.

the light is only 250w but the tank is only 12" deep and the light is only 5" above the water.

in the main display it will be in 30" of water but under a 400w.

Very nice video. Seems like your Gigantea is getting plenty of flow and has lots of friends too!
