Gigantea progress thread

Best of luck with him, Did you get it mail order or local?

Thank you. Got it from a store in Orange County. The mouth has been tightly closed for the most part which is why I am not completely hopeless. It's been in my tank for 3 days now. It seems to have acclimated to my light well but I've been messing with my MP10 and experimenting with different modes. OrionN has on several occasions recommended Reef Crest mode on other threads but my gig responds better to Constant flow mode.

Mine is getting its flow from 3 mp10's, 2 synched in tidal swell and one in reefcrest.

Hey,

I am running a 6 bulb t5HO 54 watt aquaticlife fixture.

4 ati blue+

1 ati purple +

1 ati coral +

I take it your running LED's?

Yup :) Kessil A350W...the anemone is attached to a rock located on the bottom of the tank. I am thinking about putting another taller rock underneath it to raise it up to mid level for more light and flow. Not ready to move around corals bc this gig can die on me any day.

Here are pics from 10-06-2014. This guy continues to do well; thinking of swapping the picassos for a pair of A. sandaracinos.

It's doing alright. I raised the intensity level on my light and I don't think it likes it as much as I thought it would.
Why are you thinking about getting new clowns?

How long have you had yours now?

Not 100% on swapping clowns, but orange skunks are one of my favorite clown fish species and I've always wanted a pair. I had a pair of orange skunks briefly in the past but they quickly broke down and perished from brook. Don't see them too often in tanks or stores, one of my LFS has a nice large breeding pair in their display and they are really nice.

I had a similar experience with orange skunks except they died of marine velvet My gig has been in the tank for 4 days now. Keep us posted with your purple ones. I am glad they are pulling through.

Thank you, I will end up just keeping the picassos, the skunks will give me an excuse to set up another tank in the future.

If both gigs are doing well in a few months I plan on adding a pair of anemone crabs to the tank.

Here are pics from today, the larger one is getting shaggier by the week 10-14-2014
