gill is bulging

I have a four striped damsel with a bulging gill on it's left side. Anybody have any ideas on what the problem is and how to treat it?

is there any strange colouring to the gill.

no odd colors in the gill area....in fact it looks clean and fleshy and smooth

Could be a parasite, could be a bacteriologic infection.
