Gimmito's 450 L-Shaped Display

In that case, I don't see why not. My concern was going to be whether those pavers would leach anything (i.e. silicates, phosphates). I remember reading through Sangay's thread and now that you mention it I do remember that. I say go for it. Any ideas on what you wanna do with the aquascaping?

I love Steve Weast's reef tank w/the canyon down the middle. I'll differ with less rock and that I want a bommie on the front left of the tank with 5 picasso clowns and a flame bubble tip anemone or a blue haddoni. The back left will be a larger bommie. The right side of the tank I will have to get a little creative to conseal the corner. I was thinking of building some type of large overhang with 7-8 royal grammas living in there. All this is subject to change of course.

Looking good. I like how you painted the back. I'm wondering if it will add depth once you add the rock and water.

That's what I'm hoping. I'm also planning to put a led fixture behind it to light it up and simulate more depth.

My friend Ethan helped me run some double wall duct to my solar attic fan. I'll be installing a panasonic whisper quite fan which will be controlled by a thermostat I bought from Jon (Jar).

I picked up a panasonic whisper quite fan from House of Fans in the city to keep the hood area cool. I'm going to use a temperature controller I bought off Jon to kick on once it hits a presetted temp.

I picked up a H&S A150 skimmer for the frag tank. Unfortunately, due to the skimmer's height I'll have to rework the ft a bit. :(

The H&S A150 sitting next to its (dirty) lil brother the H&SA110/F2000 which I'll use for the qt. I'm picking up a H&S A250 for the main display. It seems like I'm a rep for H&S skimmers. ;)

I also picked up a used 15 watt Aqua UV sterilizer for the qt. A big shout out to Jason (Opiumpipez) for a well packed box.

I got a chance to remove a "non-bearing header" that the contractor installed under a glue-lam. This will enable me to install a light rack similiar to the one Steve Weast used in his setup. I'll wrap it up with frp also.

Please excuse the sheetrock dust.

I picked about 50+ lbs of fiji rock from the now close Ocean Treasures (LFS). This brings my total to about 225 lbs of lr...I'll probably need about 25 or so lbs more. I need to order fiberglass grate to start the rockscaping.

That rock looks HUGE!!! Unless I'm seeing more than one rock as one in the pic. Either way it looks kinda awesome. Also...is it bad that your boxes of plumbing parts is making me drool?

It's actually 2 large pieces in that pic...they weigh like 25 lbs each.

You should have seen me in the basement of the LFS that went out of business. Imagine (4) 6 shelf racks full of plumbing parts. :eek2:

...and the "Big Brother" rubbermaid 300 gallon trough...I swear my kids could fill it up with water and kick it in there on hot days. :D
