too much prepwork, IMHO. All you need is a source of water to keep the bit cool and a steady hand. Todd, Eric D and myself have all drilled tanks with no issues. If you need help drilling LMK, I have a 45mm bit for 1" bulkheads that only has 6 holes on it.
