Glass scraper

Magnetic scrapers aside, what are people using to scrape their glass along the sand line and into the corners?

I just spent some time on the weekend doing more thorough maintenance of my tank - cleaning filters, replacing gfo/carbon. Also took a blade from a safety razor and went shoulder deep into the tank scraping the algae growing on the 1" along the sand that I don't regularly get with the magfloat.

I know kent marine has a scraper, I read that it doesn't really work great.

Are there other tools people use to get down to the sand? (would also be useful for the back glass also)

Hate putting arm in the tank if I can avoid it.

"Magnetic scrapers aside"

"Here is a magnetic scraper that does what you want"

I feel dumb =)

Looks perfect. Amazing how many times I can search for something on google and completely miss the answer on the site I buy crap on all the time -.-

I'm a flipper convert myself. It works very well and gets to and past places that other more bulky ones won't

I use the flipper also, I just bought a flipper max for my 210 glass tank. I used a regular flipper on my 55. Love them.
To get into the sand I use the blade side and turn it at about a 45 degree angle into the sand, and always move it forward, pushing the sand. Never pull it backwards near the sand or you will drag sand between the blade and glass and scratch it.
When I move it away from the sand I try to get the blade perpendicular to the sand and then move it up away from it.

That looks pretty good. What type of blades does it use?

Yea - interested in that. If it uses normal safety razor blades that would be great.

I'd love to scrape the back wall of the tank and cannot use a mag scraper for that.

The mag scrapers would work for the front, but ideally I want a stick to do both.

I am soon to set up a 120 and the Mag Float is being retired, as I do not want to scratch the glass. My question is: Flipper or Tunze Care magnet?
Thanks!

Tunze Care. Costs, but there are replacement blades; and it can, using some small caution, clean beneath the sand edge.
