Glass tank integrity with Tunze wavebox

I've just installed a Tunze wavebox on my 72" x24d x 30h Oceanic glass bowfront tank. The tank is 4 yrs old and the build on Oceanic glass tanks seems extremely well, better than their sister tanks AGA. I think the glass is over 1/2" and all seams look like excellent condition. The tank has two stock braces on top and bottom which are a part of the trim. The box is installed at one (centered on end).

I have the wavebox tuned to the max wave that I can acheive, about 1-1/4" to 1-1/2". The driver is on max which I did not need to trim; and the frequency is very close to the starting counterclock wise position.

How concerned should I be about the Oceanic glass tank's integrity with the wave box?

If I get 5 years with a problem I would be happy (might upgrade to a 250g acrylic within 5 yrs.)

Has anyone lost a tank from the wavebox?

BTW... the Tunze wave box is an excellent idea, the Left-Right action is unlike anything else. I am glad I purchased one! I might add one 6100 stream w/controller also.

You still need powerheads when using a wave box.Water only goes back and forth. My lfs guy has 8 ft tanks. He has 4 of them 2 staked one on top of each other.Tanks don't rock at all.He gats a nice wave and no rocking motion.I think you may get a rocking motion if you have a cheap stand.I have seen vids of guys with smaller tanks and no problems,Make sure your tank is level that helps aswell.

I worry more about bowfronts just because when I worked retail they seemed failure prone. I was told by the manufacturers that they were assembly issues but I believe it is the way the stress is distributed unevenly due to the shape. Perhaps they are right and I am wrong. I will say though that they usually failed within a few months so if you had one this long it probably isn't an issue. Just be sure it is level. The tanks usually lose 10% of their life to the wavebox.

Thank you Steve and Roger.

The tank is level, I borrowed a 5ft level when I set it up, also the stand is the stock Oceanic stand where I removed the plastic shrouding and installed 2x4 vertically on end everywhere possible. Stand is very solid.

I guess since the tank is 4 years old I will hope to get another 5 out of it.

Being a 6ft and 30"deep, should I look at the 6100 or just a couple 6080. Basically I don't know if I should/would use the controller w/ 6100 or not.

To supplement the wave box, should I consider 6080 or 6100/7091 combo?

Thanks
Doug

The 6100 is preferred for the control features but honestly the wavebox is giving you randomness so the 6080 would probably be sufficient.
