Glass tanks with external overflows

I am in the process of building my 120"x60"x36" monster and I wanted the tank in glass. I also want an external overflow that is the length of the back (but it could be a little smaller). I have had several quotes from several venders; most want to use Euro bracing and cross bracing, but there is one vender that wants to do an open top with a steal frame support. I like the idea of the open top, but he doesn't know how to do an external overflow with this type of top. Heck I'm not even sure how we would do an external with Euro bracing.

I would love to see some pictures of your glass tanks with external overflows. And if anyone has any suggestions please do tell

I'd be hesitate not to use euro or occasional cross brace with that length tank. You should try to get it constructed in place, it will weigh a ton. 1/2 or 3/4 glass?

3/4" glass. The builder said he ran it threw his cad program and with the steal frame it exerted less that 7 psi, but that was without the external overflow. And we expect the tank to come in at about 1200 - 1400 pounds (can you say crane? LOL

works for me if above doesnt, add the two lines together. for some reason it shrinks it.

Here's mine... 220 with 2 external overflows and eurobracing. I think it weighs about 600lbs.

Here is mine. Not the best picture, but you cab see the overflow in the back of the tank. However it does have Eurobrace and cross braces, which I would highly rcomend for the size of your tank.

I would get a builder to build this tank onsite. My friend has a tank that is 10' x 3' x 2' and it took 14 guys to move the tank into his house and onto the stand. We had 10 guys at first and we couldnt budge the tank. The dimensions you are wanting to get will be EXTREMELY heavy. Is the tank going to be craned in before the roof is on the house? Is this tank not going to be in the basement?

I wish we would have had the Equipment that Yaktop used to lift his tank,it would have saved my back tremendously.

AGE tank, 72x34x25 Right end acrylic, external overflow with 1"x3" acrylic eurobracing. 1/2" glass all around. Starphire front and left end (viewable panels).

I sent an e-mail to a place in Texas that does AGE tanks for a quote, and got nada. Guess they are just too busy... Oh well.

Get a good builder for that size tank.The last thing you want is a leak.I like the outside overflow.I wanted to do one on my tank but space to me was an issue.My tank is already pretty big for the size of my room.
