Glass thickness advice for SPS custom tank?

So I am in the market for a new custom aquarium and have decided on these dimensions because of space constraints in my apartment.
40L X 26W x 24H. (108Gallons)

Since flow is going to be placing a lot of pressure on the seams I do not this tank to have an expiration date. Therefore I want multiple redundancy in the tank with rimless thick glass with aluminum rim. Miracle suggested 5/8 all the way around with rimless or eurobracing because of pumps like Vortech, Tunze, etc will cause major problems in the future. Price they said $2300.

I got a quote from Customeraquariums.com with Rimless /ultra-clear front panel for $1500 delivered - and ability to go with thicker glass at additional cost.

How thick to go for a rimless for SPS Flow?
How thick to go with standard aluminum frame?

Would 1/2" Be enough aslong as the bottom is 5/8?

Keep in mind I'd like to keep this under $1800 its not that large a tank =)

I recall when I ordered mine 40x24x22h, LeeMar wouldn't build it any higher (I originally wanted it 24h) unless I went with 5/8" glass or switched from rimless to eurobraced. In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't go that high. My sides are 22h with a water level around 20.5". It's just right for SPS light penetration and the larger than usual glass gap on top prevents a lot of splashing and jumpers.

Thanks for the help.

I just placed an order for a very nice euro-braced Ultra clear tank from CTC with 1/2" on all panels.

Final dimensions are 42"L X 26"W X 24H" I have 8 weeks to plan the build so super excited.

Very good, yeah 1/2" is more than enough for rimless I think. But you will like euro-braced more. I honestly wish I had euro-braced only because when I clean the glass with my magnet I sometimes slosh water outside the tank.

I just ordered the tank from CTC. They said for rimless they would do 3/4" and for eurobraced they will do 1/2". Because of the added weight and price I opted for the 1/2"

Yes, if you want 24" high, you gotta go with 3/4" glass.

My 4x2x2 120 gallon has 3/4" glass... but its so much more expensive.

When I was looking at tanks, a euro-braced using 1/2" glass was quoted at $1200... but I demanded 24" high and rimless... they said it would be $3K with 3/4" glass... lol.

I'm considering a new 180 build now :)

I finally made the purchase 2 weeks ago so that leaves me 6 more weeks to plan the build:

CTC Aquariums'
42LX26WX24H Eurobraced 1/2" thick with 2 panels ultra clear and 2 hole drilled, black silicone, black back. Total price: $1850
Since I am picking up it was a no-brainer.

Yeah, the price I got for rimless was almost double at some places but after consideration I like having some type of bracing for stability and to prevent drips. I even like to have a ledge around the tank so I have a place to put things like fish food, corals, buckets, etc.
