thanks for responding. In Aquatic Eco-Systems catalog, they stated that special cement was needed, and NOT to use purple primer. They didnt give any more info on the glue needed.
I'll check the local HD, we dont have a Menards down here. Thanks, Matt

woops, I used the purple primer! On the can it says to use oatey cleaner... I assumed the stuff was the same.

No leaks though!

i used rain or shine and spa flex at Lowes, but the spa flex from Lowes is different from what Savko sell. how is your build coming along?

Hey cbui2 ! The tank is finally done and back in the house, kitchen remodeled. Did one closed loop yesterday, hope to finish the plumbing today, depending on the number of leaks! So, I am getting close. I hope I can dig up my build thread and update it soon.

I plumb lots of systems and I always use the Oaty clear cleaner in the yellow can. It cleans and preps and doesn't look so ugly. I always use the heavy duty glue in the green can. This stuff really bites into both hard and flex PVC.

I used the flex pvc from savko, and I also use the rain r shine pvc cement. worked out well for me.

I have glued alot of flex pvc that has been setup for over two years now with no leaks using purple primer and the heavy duty glue in the green can as Tampa states. In talking to the local plumbing store they state you are suppose to use a special glue if it is outside such as a hot tub is.
