Glueing candy cane

I have a 3 head candy cane frag and want to know the proper procedure to attach it to a rock. Was told the heads should not come in contact with outside air at all. Is this true? Thanks

I use Oatey's fix it stick to attach branching corals to rock . the stuff even drys under water.
I have exposed my candycanes to the air plenty of times with no issues. Sponges should not come in contact with outside air at all.

Thanks for reply. I have super glue gel on hand, I'm assuming it would work if I wedge in rock hole. Thanks for the Oatey's fix it stick, will look for it.
Main concern was exposure to air. No worries with that, thanks again.
