Gluing frags...

I can't get the damn things to stay on the rocks. After a few weeks they break off. I had 1 stick to a rock for a few months then break off. I have no luck with frag glue. Would epoxy work better? What is your guys method?

thanks
Dave

I put glue on the epoxy and stick it to the frag, then i glue the other side and stick to rockwork.

Something dont sound right dave, after a few monts most any polyp should have attached and even reproduced nicely.

Whats your tank specs? what kind of lighting and flow?

I just use super glue "gel" and put it on the frag then quickly stick it on the rock and hold it for about 20-30 seconds and when I try to pull it, it is on good.

Yeah the frag that came off after a few months grew out and left about 5-8 polys behind I am fine with that :) the problem is the glue doesn't stick to the rock very well. I use a toothbrush to clean the rock and then glue but no luck. My flow is 1260 but since its a corner tank its weird. I have 2 powerheads a Hydor Koralia 1 and 3. My lighting is 150w MH HQI with 2 65w antinic.

I usually have no problem using super glue gel. A few times, the glued polyps would fly away due to high flow. When it's new I try to keep them in low flow then move them as new polyps grow and therefore hold them in place.

i use cheap ole super glue and ive never had a prob. i had a nice frag set up for a while, 29g with a 175 xm pendant.

i would cut my zoos, literately dry off the bottom of the zoos and the rubble, attach zoo. ive never had a prob with lifting or dye off. i sold a bunch too with many satisfied customers.
