Gluing in fitting on established tank?

I have to cut a check valve I to my tank. I have to glue it up and let it cure for a few hours. I was wondering if the tank will be OK with cutting and gluing a check valve into the return. Any side effects of pvc glue?

You should be fine as PVC is cured pretty quick. But a check valve is useless in our tanks. Don't rely on it.

I have a check valve on my tank only because I've been too lazy to remove it. It's been useless from the start, water leaks right past it. It's the best Sch80 check valve BRS sells. Skip the check valve.

Agreed w/skipping it. it's just another maintenance issue that WILL fail when you need it. If you have to use it make sure to use one w/unions so it can be serviced.
