Given the options posted, and ignoring the issues of electrical consumption and noise. Where would you invest? Why one and not the other?

that reeflo is freakin awesome, and for $1300 and 120watts, i dont think you can beat that power, for what's on your list, it gets my vote!!

the ati bm 300 is suppose to be sweet, but not out yet... but it's suppose to be even more powerful, and for about $1400

yeah, i'm diggin those pictures and vids but for some reason i'm reluctant to jump for that one.

I have found lots of people who have been NW people, and then say they went back to their becketts. Thats the issue i'm having right now. I really just want something that can do what I need it to, which is really rip the nutrients out. That's why I did the poll, just to see everyone's overall thoughts.

I have seen some of the MRC becketts pull out some of the nastiest skimmate, but there skimmers require big pumps to work properly.

From what you have above I would go with the reeflow first and the MRC second. The MRC is going to need a much stronger pump and take a lot more watts to do the same job as the reeflow.

mta.....ITs barely winning.

I'm suprised I have not seen more for the BK. These are all pretty close to each other in price and as much as I see people answer the question which is the best skimmer..... and they reply with Bubble King.

The BK and Reeflo would be pretty close together. If you want an efficient skimmer, BK. If you want to save a few hundred bucks, Reeflo. I'm in a dilemma too since can't decide if I want the Reeflo or the BK. If I get a BK its going to be a 300ext though.

don't forget the MRC is also semi-upgradable by adding additional risers so if you end up expanding the system or increasing the bioload over the original skimmers capacity you can upgarde instead of replacing the skimmer

I really like the quality and performance of the H&S skimmer. If you want the dual Eheim H&S skimmer, you should be looking at the A250-2x1260. Slightly larger body with better user control over it predecessor the A200-2x1260. Unless you are referring to the A200-2xF2001 with the Aquabee pumps, then I would recommend you look at the A200-1260 instead. Eheim seem to be quieter than the Aquabees.

I'd be one of those people that tried the NW skimmers and went back to beckett. I have an Austin Oceans 2000 and several DIY skimmers. I also prefer the beckett to mazzei. I voted MRC but you should check out what Austin Oceans can do for you. They are great to work with.

Becketts definately have their place. IMO they are the better choice when dealing with large fish-only setups that have huge bioloads. They aren't as efficient, but the much larger turnover rate means is a definate plus for such setups. Also, the goods ones are almost completely set and forget. However, with a reef setup, I think efficiency and sucking out as much excess nutrients as possible is best and would go with the Reeflo.

I just ordered a BK, so I voted for the Bk.

I'm a former MRC MR-6R runner and a current H&S 200-3xf2001 runner. They are both great skimmers, but I wanted to yet again try a new toy lol.

If you decide on an in sump H&S, I'll be selling mine soon.

I ordered exactly the MRC you have listed because I wanted the ability to "upgrade" it later... and it's price point, even after the extra $200.00 for the recommended pump, is excellent.

u MUST TELL ME HOW YOU LIKE IT!!!!!!!!! I'm so torn with this its killing me. I really want that skimmer, but i'm afraid i'm not going to be happy with it!!!! pictures if you can.....$ 200 pump? The one I'm looking at using is $400. What are you looking at?

did not think of that.... thanks.

so why leave the MRC?

why the BK? Instead of another H&S?

Why would a beckett not suck out the excess nutrients? Like the Reef-Flo?

I understand its not as an effcient pump that was my very first post. "Ignoring the power effciency and noise" then where would you invest?
