gobies

I have a sleeper gold head goby, He is always busy doing his thing, cleanning the sand. But after taking a mouthful of sand he swims up and releases it all over the rock and coral! He does make a mess. My question is do all types of gobies do this? I mean is there a goby that stays low when releasing the sand?

Not to be grim, but sand sifting gobies often starve in all but the largest, most mature tanks. How big and how old is your tank, if I may?

And if you worry about him getting enough food, I know my YWG (yellow watchman) is very fond of Formula One Medium Grade Sinking Pellet With Garlic. Not all will eat it, but it's worth a try. It gets right down where the goby lives.

I used to have one that did that all day. My tank's a fowlr so it didn't matter to me. He ate whatever he could get in the sand and also was a pig. Even ate nori as it floated by him. Most active goby that I've ever seen.
