goby/pistol question

hey guys we were going to get a watchman goby to pair him up with a tiger pistol or something....i have read a bit on it and saw some have different ways of trying to pair them up....any thoughts and is a tiger pistol best for the yellow watchman goby?

Either way will work. I introduce a second tiger to my established watchman (after the first tiger died) and they paired together without issue. I think a tiger shrimp is best too.

I tried with two Randalli shrimp before but they are too small and wont find the watchman if your tank is big.

I purchased my watchman/pistol together and the watchman jumped out after about a year. A replacement watchman was purchased and they paired up right away. Really neat how they work together. The pistol has dragged 2 coral frags into his hole though, luckily they were inexpensive.

online they have a list of gobys that pair with pistols....cnt rember what site though and yes i have a peppermint in the tank.....reason im not buying together cause im my QT i have used copper a few months back and dont want to risk putting the shrimp in there so i'll put the YWG in the QT for a few weeks till i go and put him in to make sure everything is cool with him.....after i got him in the display.....ya guys think i should put the tiger shrimp in there asap?

I currently have a paired watchman and pistol, along with a diamond in the tank. I had the watchman prior to getting the pistol. To pair them, I just released the pistol at the entrance of the goby's cave. Within a couple of hours, they were working together.

The tiger works fine and you don't have to work to pair them. They just do.

BUT, the shrimp as it grows will begin to kill fishes that burrow. They try to move in, and turn up with a mysterious red spot, and die a few days later. Particularly vulnerable, gobies, including his host, and very particularly dartfish, wrasses, etc.
